~to brighten the day~

Hello peeps, we’ve had a lot of this around this week

and this

and while it’s pretty at first, after a while it does get me thinking about summer and warmth and pretty things….

Pretty things like peonies, my most favorite flower in the whole wide world.

I love how full the flower heads are, layer upon layer of petals. Sometimes they look almost ruffled.

The pink ones are pretty, but the white are breathtaking.

In my own garden I have two peony plants, a pink and a white! I love to cut the blooms and bring them inside.

Don’t peonies make the most beautiful bouquets?

Thinking pretty peony thoughts!

Peonys (peonies??) are sooo lovely! I'm with you Tracey, I'm finished with the snow. Aren't you glad we don't live where winter is longer, with more cold & snow?! That's how I survive snow and cold; knowing that it'll end very soon! I think I prefer your way though... thinking about peonys!! ;-)

I know, "peonys" looks so much nicer but it is "peonies". The rule is "y" at the end of a work changes to "i" and add "es". Except for all the exceptions of course! Sorry, that's what happens when you work in Grade 1!!
I'm on a mission to find some real ones now:-)

We finally have the snow, too! 7 inches! But it has stopped for now.

I love peonies, too. I used to have a row of them along side of my house. Then we had some major work on the windows and roof and they were destroyed by the workers. I vow I am going to plant them again. They look so great dried, too!

Happy Weekend!

Jane

The snow photos are beautiful. I would love to have some snow in Tennessee.

Those peonies are gorgeous and make me ready for Spring, too! How soon can it get here?
Build a snowman for us southerners! It's way too hot down here for January!

The peonies are really gorgeous, make good mood and feelings for Spring. I hate winter and the two months June & July are the baddest all over each year.

Enjoy your wonderful flowers and dream a little of Spring and summer!

Thanks for a glimpse of spring, Tracey. Peonies are right up there as one of my favorite flowers. I transplanted several bushes from my mom's house last spring but when I had my roof put on in July, the workers let all the roof debris fall right on them! I'm afraid, like Blondie's comment, mine will be destroyed. I'm still hopeful they'll grow this spring. Fortunately, my mom has lots of plants and is willing to share with me if I need more. Your photos are beautiful ... even the snowy ones!

Polly, really, I have never had ants on mine!! I bring in spiders each year with the Christmas tree, but no ants! Your peonies must be sweeter than mine:-)
Wasn't able to send you a reply via email.
