~sweet vintage treasures~

today i'm showing you some of my true loves

~vintage suitcases and vintage books~

i love to collect vintage suitcases

here are my two white ones, topped with a pile of vintage books

they sit in a corner of my living room

see the book without the spine cover, it's a really old "how to take care of anything" book from my Nanna

i remember reading it at her home, it was in a lot better shape back then!

the books are just simply bound together with burlap ribbon and shabby seam binding

here's one last peek at my shabby pile

i'm linking up with Debra for Vintage Inspiration Friday
and Tickled Pink

Lovely. Love old books, especially those you can remember from your childhood. I'll have to do a post about my two favorite old books.

I've seen books bound together with twine but I think the burlap ribbon is SO much prettier! I'm sure your Nanna would be proud to know that you still cherish her book and that you are displaying it in such a pretty way.

Thanks for stopping by my new blog and leaving an encouraging comment!

Hello Tracey,
I love collecting and displaying vintage suitcases as well! I have a couple of trunks - I try to imagine the life of the traveler. It seems collections of books bound as decorative items is very popular - yours looks wonderful with the burlap and binding!

Love the use of burlap on the old books. I wonder if any of us use seam binding anymore the way they used too:)
Thanks for stopping by yesterday.
