~french farmhouse stylin'~ vintage milk carrier~

Hiya, I wanted to start talking about a few ways you can introduce a french farmhouse feel into your home and decor, and we’re starting with a ~vintage milk carrier~

I shelled out a pretty penny for this one, but I had passed up one too many and knew it would be one of those “I wish I woulda” deals.

Sometimes this vintage carrier sits on top my kitchen cabinets with a couple old milk bottles inside, but quite often I pull it down and fill it with flowers.

Currently my runner is just an old floursack on my family farmtable. We use this table all the time, so I like to have something that is quick and easy to move on and off. Even everyday spaces should have something to pretty them up and make you feel ~happy~

I popped in a few of my favorite blue mason jars and white tulips, and instantly have a pretty focal point in front of the window that shouts to me “french farmhouse stylin’”!!

I closed the blinds to shoot these photos but typically the light floods in the back of the house in the afternoon.

Heart the old wooden handle and worn metal.

It’s a quick and easy decor item that you can change up in so many ways, with BIG impact, so next time you see a vintage milk carrier, don’t pass it up!

Hi Tracey! I've been wanting one of these too! I finally found one in Dallas, and almost bought it, and then talked myself out of it. They are priced so high! I'm sure I'll snap one up if I find it around here and don't have to schlep it home. I love the way you've styled yours. And you're right! So many ways to decorate with them!

Tracey, I purchased one of these in the late 80s and often fill the milk bottles with flowers. They do offer a nice feel. ~ sarah

I love it! When I saw the picture, I was hoping you had that little jewel listed in your etsy shop. I am happy that you found it for yourself and the jars with tulips are gorgeous in it.

So pretty with the tulips and mason jars! I nabbed one of these beauties at a flea market last summer and ended up drybrushing it white. I just love the old, whitewashed, chippy look it has now! And that wooden handle makes it just perfect! :)

Aren't those the funnest things. I have one on my kitchen table right now filled with pine cones and candles, but I change out the mason jars all the time. Love your tulips.

I love the flowers in the milk carrier. I bought a replica of some type of carrier, but it sits empty. I can't wait to fill it with jars or milk bottles or something farmhouse and french!
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your french farmhouse style as a new linky follower.

Lovely! I collect aqua mason jars too, but mine are mostly CROWN (I'm Canadian.) I also passed up on a carrier similar to yours because of shipping costs and I'm still kicking myself. Yours is perfect and your photos are lovely.
