white wood and blue mason jars...

what do you get when you put gorgeous blue mason jars

together with cheery sunflowers
(fast climbing the ranks among my favs)

and pop them in a white flower box
(thrift find with a coat of fresh white paint)

= a stunning flower box
(at least I think so!)

here it is in it's every day spot, on our kitchen table, hub of our home
(yes, we like to eat!)

such a bright and cheery welcome!

i would love to find a lower profile box to show off the jars a little better, but this will do for now!

"powdered snow" and vintage french inspired ribbon!

i feel like I'm having blog post withdrawal...

you see I really haven't got to create much this week, what with the kids out for summer (which seems even busier than when they were in school!)

and.....because something else has been occupying my time

....drumroll please.....

a little while back Mr Keeper decided he was tired of my "stuff" steadily taking over the house

and he declared that we would convert our home office into "my" space

yay!!!! I was so excited

it's only a 9x9' space, but to have all my "stuff" in one place

bliss!

to be able to make a "mess" and close the door

bliss!

so this whole week has been moving "stuff" out (can't believe how much stuff was in there.....and how much more has to go back in)

and painting....and painting.....

well actually Mr Keeper has been doing the painting as he says I'm too messy of a painter, get it all over me (really??)

here's the before, way too dark for such a small room

lightening it right up, with "powdered snow"

sure took a lot of coats to cover that green

I promise to show you when it's all done!

anyway, back to the creating thing, I can't show you what I have actually made yet in case special birthday person it is intended for reads my blog:-)

but I have been playing with my stamps again, so much fun

here is some of the ribbon I've been making

isn't it yummy, such a classy way to tie up a gift, or a pile of books or....

well, back to organising all the "stuff"

happy days,
Tracey

shabby rose pitchers

firstly, thank you to all my sweet blogging friends for their advice on my mirror dilemma

i've made my decision and will reveal once it's on the wall (we bought the wrong hardware!)

so, did I choose gold or white??

you'll have to wait and see.....

today i wanted to show you these cute galvanised pitchers I've given a makeover

they were pretty unremarkable looking before (sorry, why am I so bad at taking "before" pictures - I'm always in such a hurry to dive in and start the project - I know some of you girls are with me there!)

found the big one first, painted it heirloom white, quite a few coats on top of primer to get it looking nice

couldn't believe it when I came across a similar mini version, so gave this one a good painting too

printed off this charming graphic from Karen at the Graphics Fairy (such a treat to see what she has for us each day!)

modge-podged it to the pitcher (loooove modge podge)

with a teensy version for the mini pitcher, front and back so they look good from any angle!

see what a nice scrolled handle it has

and here we have my set of shabby rose pitchers!

wouldn't they look sweet in the bathroom, or on a covered porch filled with flowers, or even in the kitchen

mirror, mirror on the wall....

okay blogging friends, I need your advice!

I picked up this large mirror to hang in my living room, in this b-i-g space over the fireplace

...it's a seriously big space, this is a huge mirror and it's still a big space!

it wasn't really a bargain by thirft store standards, but it's what I've been looking for and was still half the price of a new mirror

...and as my birthday is coming up I just told everyone I already had my gift picked out, perfect!

but I can't decide, do I leave it gold, or paint it white??

my living room has more of a taupe palette with touches of white

When I look at it I like it gold....it's classic and classy...

then I go online and see white mirrors and I like those more!

see how the white paint shows up the detailing

ahh, the dilemma....

....I think I know which way I'm leaning

Mr Keeper is going to hang it for me this weekend, so I've got to get it all cleaned up and ready (see the sticker label and fingerprints...)

so, what do you think, leave it gold or paint it white??

happy days,
Tracey
