cute dragon rag quilt

One of my most favorite things to make are rag quilts

so I thought I'd show you the cute rag quilt I just finished up for an etsy customer...

she wants it for her little boy to take to daycare

it started out like this....big pile of yummy fabrics

which became a big pile of yummy squares...

which became a pile of strips...
(sorry about the lighting, it was dark by the time I got to this stage!)

which became this big quilt....

lots of snip, snip, snipping....

and finally a bright and cuddly dragon rag quilt

I looooove making rag quilts, they are time consuming for sure, but I love how soft and cuddly they turn out, and they just get raggier and cuddlier with each wash.

here are a few others I've made...

construction trucks

L'll cowboys

retro florals

pretty in pink

each one becomes a forever treasure

What a gorgeous quilt. I just came across your blog via My House of Giggles comments, noticed you are a Langley girl as I am too! I was one of the attendees of the tea. I will have to add your blog to my local blog roll!

I love these Tracey - your photos were good, but I found myself wanting to take a much closer look at your work... I even found myself wanting to snuggle under a rag quilt while watching TV!

I'll definitely add you to my BC BlogGURLS network so that the next time we gather, you can join us!!

So is the white fabric on the back, or did you use it as batting?

theqcontinuing - I used blue flannel on the back and white flannel as the middle layer. I guess I will have to do a tutorial on making a rag quilt sometime, as lots of folks seem to want to know how to do it!
